No matter where a man may dwell,
He’ll make this statement as a rule:
“It’s warm by day, the truth to tell
But then the nights are always cool.”
E’en on the arld, thirsting plain,
Where blindly roves the panting mule.
You’ll heart the old familiar strain:
“It’s hot. But then the nights are cool.”
Should Satan boldly venture out.
Once more our mortal minds to fool.
“My home is warm,” ha’d say, no doubt;
“But then the nights are always cool.
