After Many Years

After Many Years.

Back to the arenes of my childhood.
Back to the old home once more;
Many a thing to remind me
Of the days so happy of yore

Back to the weates of my girlhood,
To the old homesteat no fair.
Longing and weeping for loved ones- Father and mother were there.

Oh, how I slighted their counsel
When warned of temptations and snare:
Tonight my poor heart is breaking
For love so tender and rare,

Back to the sceties of my childhood:
Father and mother are here
Oh, that I had tried to please them
And their life’s burden to share
