Why Men Swear
WHY MEN SWEAR
3708
With awful efforts Jenkins packed
His trunk until it nearly cracked
He folded, doubled, jammed and squeezed,
And then puffed and grunted too, and wheezed,
Then viewed his triumph with a grin,
For everything was safely in:
But as he struggled from his knees
His wife came running with these:
A dress, some petticoats, a shirt,
Some stockings and a new silk skirt,
Three summer hats, a bathing suit,
Some summer novels of repute;
An opera coat, a parasol,
She gave them to him, one and all
Then softly said, with signs of fear;
These really must go in, my dear”
