Boy May Be Found With Song

Boy May Be Found with Song
2172

,
A song, may
find a lost boy A song may accomplish
what a heart broken father and hundreds
of friends have falled to do The simple
words of “The Lost Child” sung in a sweet
voice may fall upon the ear of some one
who knows where Richmond Byers is
has been for the past two years
And that person, with heart touched by a song when
the word pictures of a sorrowing mother
waiting with arms outstretched for the
return of her sweet faced child have falled
to make an impression, will take
Rich- mond Byers, for whom almost an entire
nation has been hunting, back to Seeles- viile and home

The song was written by F Waldo Har- grave, of Jasonville,
Ind who has dedi- cated his piece to little Richmond Byers
The proceeds from the sale of the song
will be deposited in the First National
bank of Jasonville to be held as a reward
fer “any one who shall restore to his
par- ents little Richmond Byers or give any
Information that may lead directly to his
recovery before January 1, 1908”
Mr Hargrave has written other songs and they have proved good sellers
When he read the story of the disappearance of
Richmond Byers he wrote “The Lost Child”
The piece has lately come from the press and has already met with a good sale
Mr llargrave believes that thou-
sands of dollars may be raised to be used
as a reward to the person who will return
the little boy with a niek in his car to the
sorrowing Secleyville parents
Many of the retailers who have offered the song to the
trade have found it necessary to send iu Iarger orders
The cover for “The Lost Child” is very attractive
There is a large picture of t
father and mother sitting at an open gate
with their thus daughter, who in turn plays
with a doll Underneath this cut is u
picture of Richmond Byers, the same that
has been used in almost every newspaper
in the country during the past few monthsr
On the fuside of the cover is a brief his- tory of the disappearance of
Richmond Byers and, the plan for saving the money derived from the sale of the song as a reward for his return
The lines of the song follow:

Sad is the home where a mother is waiting,
Hoping and longing for tidings in vain
Sndly she mourns with heart that is break- ing
Only to see her lost darling again:
Hope, like a flower, slowly is dying
Never to bloom again in life’s long years
Lonely the theside where sad hearts are sighing
Once light with joy, now but laden with tenrs

Oh, bring back to my arms my darling baby
Once more to clasp him to my nehing heart,
Life is so dreary and lonely without him
Oh, give him back to me ere hope depart

Oh, could the prayer of a heart broken mother,
Pleading in vain for her own darling boy
Whisper its love to the heart of another,
Who could recall ber heart’s idol end Jay
Somewhere he’s waiting, mem’ry stiil, llu- gers,
Drennis of a mother’s love ne’er fade nway
Hope on, still trusting while sweet hope still lingers
Love may return your lost darling some day
