HE’S AN ORATOR.
HE’S AN ORATOR.
597.1
He don’t pretend to be perlite
When speakin’ of the other party.
It’s no kid-glove, silkstockin’ fight
He makes; he lams ’em good an’- hearty-
Jest talks right out an’ takes the resk.
He ain’t none of your careful lunters.
But shakes his fist an’ pounds the desk
An’ stamps the platform into splinters.
I like to hear ol’ Jim orate.
You bet he sets the eagle screamin’.
He’ll wake you up an’ set you straight
If you’ve been layin’ back an’ dreamin’.
He may not talk a lick o’ sense,
His logic you can’t always foller,
But all the same, ol’ Jim’s immense,
It’s worth your while to hear him holler.
