Israel’s Restoration
Israel’s Restoration.
180.9
Stand up, ye nations, far and near,
Lift your eyes and behold with cheer,
The Night of Earth has nearly gone,
The Eastern day begins to dawn,
And soon with wondering eyes we see
The glorious day of jubilee.
Behold, the march of civilization!
Onward, nation, on to nationi
From the early Oriental
To the closing Occidental;
Ah! soon we shall with joy behold
The jubilee so long foretold.
The gospel of the Son of God
Has gone throughout the world abroad,
And, by its all redeeming light.
Is driving back the shades of night,
And millions will in gladness see
The thousand years of jubilee.
Soon all the host of Israel
Shall stand among the holy hlils:
And they shall own the lands once more
Their fathers owned in days of yore;
And all the land of Palestine
Shall ring with jubileo divine,
Forty-two long generations
Of the Jews among the nations,
Persecuted, despised, and driven
To every nation under heaven;
Yet Jerusalem again is free
Throughout the world’s great jubilee.
All hall the glorious Restoration!
Send abroad the proclamation!
Through a thousand glorious years
The diadem of love appeare;
And Jew and Gentile both agree
To join the coming jubilee.
Jehovah loves the Hebrew race,
And he will save it by his grace,
For he vowed an everlasting vow,
The holy patriarchs allow;
But, heart to heart, and hand to hand,
In jubileo with Christ will stand.
The all convincing time is near
When right shall friumph over fear:
When millions shall at once bow down,
Tako up the cross, and kiss the crown:
All Israel must first by free.
And then make way for jubilee.
In the twentieth century we may see
The glories of the great to be:
And the morn of restoration
Is of close consideration:
And war and strife shall cenge to be
Through all that glorious jublico.
Stand up, ye nations, far and near!
Lift your eyes and behold with cheer!
The night of earth has nearly gone,
The Eastern day begins to dawn,
And soon with wondering eye wo soo
The long-long day of jubilee.
