Just Keep A-Growlin’

Just Keep A-Growlin’
16010

I
We jest keep on a-growlin’-
A-growlin’, every one,
When the birds, they go to singin’
If they see a flash o’ sun;
An’ all the rivers to the sea in merry music run!
II
We jest keep on a-growlin’
If the rain in silver drops
Comes down to fill the lily’s cup
An’ freshen up the crops;
The tempest blows itself away, but the growlin’ never stops!
III
So I’ve come to the conclusion-
No matter what we say,
We jes jest can’t keep from growlin’-
Huntin’ trouble on the way
We can’t get used to winter! an’ we’re
mighty short on May
