SINGING BIRDS FLY LOWEST.
SINGING BIRDS FLY LOWEST.
500.8.
The eagle builds his serie
Far up the mountain height
And birds of prey and proudly
In upper realms of Ught;
But the singing birds dy lowest,
Amid the groves and flowers,
Their gentler lives and voices
In fellowship with ours.
Ambition rises upward,
Impelled by strong desire,
And men of eagle spirit
To asure helghts aspire;
But the singing souls dy lowest
Above the moor and fen,
in joyous songful service
To all the souls of men.
O soull repining, restless,
Impatient with thy lot,
Look up, and read the lesson,
Too oft by men forget;
For the singing birda fly loweat,
And the noblest sons of men
Are not on diasy mountain,
But down in moor and fen.
