THE GRADUATES.
THE GRADUATES.
517.2
Sing a song of graduates, half a million strong,
Ready to take off their coats and shove the world along:
Halfbacks, centers, guards and ends, full- backs, bows and strokes,
Full of erudition to Impart to common folks.
Sing a song of graduates, up to all the tricks
Of business life and medicine, and law and politics;
Let the nation not despair, though dis- solved in doubt
Concerning problems of to-day-they will help us out.
Sing a song of graduates, taking keen de- light In plans to get a hold of things, and run the nation right;
They will regulate the trusts and send them down the line,
And Teddy, Cannon and the rest might just as well resign.
Sing a song of graduates, now they’re all the noise.
But soon they’ll have to hustle round for jobs as office boys;
For men who mean to run the world at first must travel so,
But they will learn that fast enough-80 do not tell them so.
