A Toast
A Toast.
6.2
I would drink a toast “New Frisco,”
Our beautiful city of godl;
The, health to her pretty maidens,
And health to her gallants bold.
Here’s health to her patient mothers,
To her fathers old and gray;
Here’s a quaff to our dear old maidens,
And her bachelors so gay.
Then with up your bumpers, boys,
And drink to her health once again,
Though our glasses hold but root beer;
We’ll soon drink her health with champagne.
So here’s health to her people
Who have neither business nor home,
And here’s to the “spirit” left them,
The “spirit that’s bred in the borne.”
