Wero I a rose, no thorn shoni dare
Wound thy dear hand, s’en though you chose
My choicest flow’r to pluck and wear:
Were Fa rose
Were I the sun, no ray should o’er
Cause thee my ardent beams to shun
I’d kiss to gold thy rippling hair;
Were I the sun.
Were I the sea, no wave should curl
No tempest cause thee fear of me.
I’d yield to thee my choicest pearl;
Were I the sea.
But being fust a man, my sweet.
I simply do the best I can,
So lay my heart down at thy feet:
