THE WINDING ROAD.

THE WINDING ROAD.
308.5

Ho for the road, the winding road,
That stretches away o’er the hills to where?
A hickory staff and a crust my load,
With a song to sing and a leave of care.

Ho for the road, the winding rond,
That leads like a ribbon of white unfurled
From the grimy town and the walled abode
To the misty rim of the far off world.

Ho for the road that winds away
Over the valley and hill and stream.
Who will follow with me to-day
Its winding course-to rove and dream?
