The Student
The Student
965
Gliding down from Bangor, On a
Puilman train,
Afte In the woods of Maine,
Quite extensive whiskers,
Light mustache as well,
Eits a college student,
Tail and silm and swell
Thro a pleasant village
Peacefully they gilde,
Empty seat behind him
No one at his side
Entere aged couple,
Takes the hindmost seat,
Enters village maiden
Charming and so sweet
Presently she falters,
“In the seat engaged?”
And the aged couple
Properly enraged
Student quite esthetic,
Seen her ticket thro
Thinks of a long, black tunnel,
Knows just what he’ll do
Pleasantly they chatter
How the cinders fly,
Till the college student
Gets one in his eye
Maiden sympathetic,
Turns herself about
“Please, sir, may I help you
Try to get it out?”
As the college student
Feels the gentle touch,
And the sweet voice murmurs,
“Do I hurt you much?
Slap!!! Bang!!!
In the tunnel quite
Ohi this glorious darkness,
Black as Egypt’s night
Blankety, blankety, blank, blank,
Blankety, blankety, blank,
Biankety, blankety, blank, blank
Blankety, blankety, blank,
Blankety, blankety, blank, blank,
Blankety, blankety, blank
Blankety, blankety, blank, blank,
Blank, blank, blank, blank, blank,
Forth from the tunnel
Glides the Pullman train,
And the aged couple,
Horrors most insane
Malden’s hair la ruffled,
As we might have feared;
Naughty little earring
In that student’s beard!
