A Very Conservative Man
A Very Conservative Man
1156
He doesn’t believe half the stories he
hears-
He’s a very conservative man
The papers, he says, spread unwarranted
fears-
He’s a very conservative map
The troubles we hear of he mlidly de
clares,
Most often are nothing but newspaper
scares
To favor the bulls or to pront the bears-
He’s a very conservative man
These charges of graft, he avows, are all
trash-
He’s a very conservative man:
He thinks that John D doesn’t care
much for cash-
He’s a very conservative mar
He will tell you that half of the news of
the day
Is merely trumped up so the papers will
pay
And he jumps at each chance to com-
placently say,
He’s a very conservative man
He thinks that the spirit of Lincoln stil
rules-
He’s a very conservative man;
And he says most reformers are rascals
or fools-
He’s a very conservative man
He doesn’t believe half the stories he
hears
And he thinks he’s entitled to praise, it
appears
For not having voted Im twenty-six
years-
Hela a very conservative man
