Resurgam
Resurgam
2183
Our Bieased Savior lay within the tomb
No lone and allontly but yeaternight
And they, the faithful fow, who loved Ilim well,
With sloeplona eyes watched for the Caster Ilght
The world was groveling ‘neath a tyrant power,
Ulind unbellef rode rampant o’er mankind,
When came to earth the Blessed Nazarino
With gifts of grace for all the poor and blind
Now He is slain by rabid Jewish mob,
Ignobly crucifled on youder cross:
Bright Christian hope is clouded once again
And stricken, stands aghast, at deed no grows
But lol ere morn had dawned on Judah’s plain,
Or touched with gold the ancient temple’s spire,
Ho rose, a vietor over death’s domain,
And filled despairing hearts with living are
A glad new truth He taught to man that morn,
And gave a blessed hope for all the years;
His sympathy Divine soothed human woes
Dispersed the gloom of death and groundless fears
As our Redeemer rose, so shall we rise,
And mount and soar with Him to realms of Joy,
Where free from sin, we’ll dwell in endless bliss,
And in his praise our ransomed powers employ
“Resurgam!” chime the Sabbath bells today;
“Resurgam!” echoes back from hill and mound;
“Resurgam!” whispers in our inmost hearts;
“Resurgam!” blends and swells with every sound
I shall rise again
